New IT Consulting Firm Uses KISS Method

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Oct. 7, 2006

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Oct. 7, 2006 — Jennifer Davidson, a former network administrator with more than 10 years of experience, has opened Davidson IT Consulting. The company provides strategic information technology consulting, planning and support to public schools, small legal firms and other small businesses, and sole proprietors. Current clients include Rio Rancho Public Schools, and SatWest, a satellite data communication solutions integrator. “Davidson IT Consulting is designed to help small businesses with strategic IT direction, planning and support, allowing business owners to optimize technology without taking time away from their core business priorities,” says Davidson.

Prior to launching her own company, Davidson spent five years as a network administrator for Rio Rancho High School, where she managed the school’s $250,000 IT budget, established security best practices, maintained hardware and software systems on more than 1,000 workstations and lab machines, built and managed network accounts including group policies and security, and provided intranet, database and basic network security training to more than 200 staff members. She also worked as a system administrator at TecMed, an Albuquerque-based medical technology company. Prior to that, she spent five years as the administrative director of the Santa Fe Symphony, where she oversaw all day-to-day operations of the organization, including the symphony’s IT functions.

Davidson is certified in Comptia Network + and A+. She holds a BA in philosophy and Asian studies from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and a master’s degree in philosophy from University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
